Q:do you know that strip series of june 1989 is running backwards? the car has already been pulled from the ditch in previous posts but now calvin just finished making sandwiches.

It’s not running backwards it’s just repeating.
Bill Watterson took two breaks where no new strips were published. The first break was from May 5th, 1991 to February 1st, 1992 and the second break was from April 3rd, 1994 to December 31st, 1994. The past strips were republished in newspapers to fill the gap. I’m doing the same here on this blog.
That story line was originally published in 1989 but was published again in 1994 to help fill the gap. It just so happens that they were both published around the same time of the year so on this blog it gets confusing because they seem so close together.
